Nectar

Nectar provides a fusion of Latin, jazz, and soul intimately layered with Kate Nicolaou’s sultry vocals, Bill Noland’s fretless bass, Juan Araneda’s nylon string guitar, and Nick Shaw’s Caribbean-inspired percussion.  Some of Nectar’s influences include Buena Vista Social Club, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chick Corea, Carlos Santana, Tito Puente, and Talking Heads.  Nectar’s music could be best described as a western MA rendition of Astrud Gilberto and Andre Segovia getting funky with Bootsy Collins to Caribbean rhythms. 

The Half Shaved Jazz Band

Hello! We are The Half Shaved Jazz Band, based in Western Massachusetts. We play tunes from the Real book as well as a host of other songs as well. We are: Larry Klein on piano, Doug Tanner on chromatic harmonica, Adam Scotera on sax and trumpet, Jeff Nissenbaum on electric bass and Kevin Weyl on drums. Come check us out for great music, very good food and a relaxed vibe. And even if you are either fully shaved or sporting a big old beard…you’re welcome. We’d love to see you!
